World renowned KODO Drummers play a variety of wooden drums, including the massive 700 pound o-daiko drum, in addition to other traditional Japanese wind and string instruments. A single-point stereo microphone was used for this recording. Quiet stretches, incredible synchronized drumming, and the musicians' shouts make this a fascinating document. The Kodo drummers are powerful and disciplined, and their music is as well.

Quote from Lucky Clark New England News Syndicate:
This is a favorite demo disc for many world music lovers!
"Definitely for those of you who enjoy feeling rather than hearing your music."
The dynamic range on the CD version is anything but limited - there are easily 60db jumps from quiet to loud passages.
**CAUTION** Set your volume level accordingly, this CD contain music of extraordinarily WIDE DYNAMIC range, encompassing long passages at the threshold of audibility that build to levels of extreme intensity.

01 Miyake (Okiage - Fisherman's Song) - 06:20
02 O-Daiko (Big Drum) - 06:10
03 Monochrome - 12:12
04 Chonlima - 07:16
05 Hae - 06:37

Not to be confused with “KMPlayer” (the Unix based Konqueror Media Player)
Yep, I know it's confusing, lol. You can get the 14 Mb file here if you wish.

This CD provides an enormous dynamic range (difference between softest and loudest peaks) that will, if done correctly, reflect what the music sounds like in a live environment. I myself firmly believe that Taiko drumming is not something one can capture on a recording. It must be heard and FELT live, just like the difference between a fireworks display on a CD or being outdoors watching it live,
but this certainly is the NEXT best thing.

Here is a quote from a friend of mine:
This recording is simply magical. It's amazing. I listen with 2 mono Krell amps and KEF speakers. I think those who found this recording very annoying or "poor" did not have the proper equipment to take full advantage of the engineering that went into this disc (especially for it’s time). This is not background music. You really need to sit down and listen to this disc to take it all in, & you do need good clean power to hear the subtle quiet passages along with the gut feeling bass as well.
